Intro to Circuits PDF

Use dough to see how electricity flows. Electricity flows in a loop called a circuit, which begins and ends at the battery pack. Electricity takes the path of least resistance, meaning it goes through whatever loop is easiest to flow through.

Educational Standards

Next Generation Science Standards

3-PS2-3

Ask questions to determine cause and effect relationships of electric or magnetic interactions between two objects not in contact with each other.

4-PS3-2

Make observations to provide evidence that energy can be transferred from place to place by sound, light, heat, and electric currents.

MS-PS2-3

Ask questions about data to determine the factors that affect the strength of electric and magnetic forces.

CCSS Science Standards

CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RST.6-8.3

Follow precisely a multistep procedure when carrying out experiments, taking measurements, or performing technical tasks.

ISTE Standards

6. Technology Operations and Concepts

Students demonstrate a sound understanding of technology concepts, systems, and operations.

6c

Troubleshoot systems and applications
