Intro to ROS 2 with the Create® 3 Educational Robot

Power Up Your Create 3

The FREE Intro to ROS 2 with Create 3 mini-series is a crash course on using ROS 2 to control the Create® 3 Educational Robot. Participants will earn a ROS 2 Beginner Certificate by learning how to use the command line interface (CLI) and the ROS 2 Python client library (rclpy) to harness the power of their Create® 3 robot.

Learn ROS 2 Basics

Each installment in the mini-course will cover a basic ROS 2 concept and demonstrate a weekly challenge. Topics include writing publishers and subscribers, writing action clients, writing packages, and looking forward to more advanced topics.

Live Education Support

In addition to the live Power-On Party on October 17, 3:30PM EST, participants are invited to attend virtual office hours for support on the weekly challenges with the Tufts Center for Engineering Education and Outreach team.
Course sessions will be released weekly; project completion will be asynchronous after the LIVE Power-On Party.

Receive Your Certificate

Requirements

To enroll in the Intro to ROS 2 program, participants must have:

  • - (1) Create 3 Educational Robot,

  • - (1) desktop OR laptop computer with an internet connection,

  • - and a Can-Do Attitude!

Commitment

To be eligible to receive an Intro to ROS 2 certificate, participants must:

  • - Register by October 11th

  • - Attend the LIVE Power-On Party on October 17 @ 3:30PM EST

  • - Complete 3 of the 4 portfolio project prompts by November 15.
